Feeling Tired in the Morning?
You May have Sleep Apnea and Not Even Know It!
What is sleep apnea?
As defined by webmd.com, sleep apnea occurs when our breathing is interrupted when we’re sleeping. Some people stop breathing repeatedly during their sleep hundreds of times throughout the night, causing oxygen loss to their brain and body.
How does it affect me? It can affect your concentration during the day and your ability to make decisions. It can lead to more serious health issues including weight gain, heart disease, stroke and diabetes, depression and headaches.
How can I find out if I have it? You can take home a FREE sleep study kit from our Edmonton dental centre. It will monitor your sleep quality, heart rate and oxygen levels. This is a FREE service that we offer to our patients and we follow up with a FREE sleep study evaluation.
Can it be treated?
Yes. We offer different treatment options. Our dentist will help you choose the best fit for you.
